What you get

A full review

Before the call, we read your plan day by day and we check your addresses in Korean.

A 45-minute video call

In English or French, for your questions and our suggestions. You come away with decisions made.

A written report

Day-by-day corrections, recommended addresses with their Korean names, pitfalls to avoid: everything is in writing.

The six points we check

Every report follows the same grid. You know what holds up, what changes and why.

  1. What already works

We tell you what holds up: well-placed accommodation, a well-built day. You know what you can keep.

  2. The plan, day by day

Pace, journeys, times: we spot the overloaded day or the underestimated journey, and we suggest a concrete fix.

  3. The addresses

We check your addresses and we recommend others, with their Korean names so you can find them in Naver Map.

  4. The pitfalls

A closing day, a table to book weeks ahead, a queue: we point out what could spoil a day.

  5. The choices to make

When two options are equally good, we give you the strengths of each. You decide with full knowledge.

  6. Your budget in Korea

A rough figure for the items we discuss: meals, transport, entry fees. Flights not included.

Extract from an itinerary check reportSample prepared by the team, fictional trip

Sample prepared by the team, fictional trip. Two travellers, ten days in April, between Seoul, Gyeongju and Busan.

What works well

  • Two nights in Gyeongju rather than a day trip from Busan: you will see the town in the evening and early in the morning.
  • Accommodation in Seoul near a station served by two metro lines: your trips back in the evening stay short.

Day 3, Seoul: our correction

  • What you had planned: Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁) in the morning, Namsan Tower in the afternoon, Gangnam in the evening.
  • Our remark: three distant districts in one day, a lot of time in the metro and little in the streets.
  • What we suggest: the palace, then Bukchon village (북촌), its neighbour, on foot. Namsan moves to day 5, with Namdaemun market at the foot of the hill.

Recommended address

  • Gwangjang Market (광장시장): for dinner at the counter of the stalls, no booking needed. Stalls open until the evening.

Pitfalls to avoid

  • Gyeongbokgung Palace closes one day a week: we moved it to another day of your stay.
  • In April, the most popular tables are booked several weeks ahead: book them as soon as our call ends.

Left to you

  • Busan at the start or the end of the trip: at the end, you finish by the sea; at the start, you keep your last days in Seoul, close to the airport for your flight home.

The day's plan

  • Morning: Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁), right at opening time, before the groups.
  • Lunch: in the Samcheong-dong district (삼청동), next to the palace.
  • Afternoon: the lanes of traditional houses in Bukchon village (북촌), then a break in a tea room.
  • Evening: dinner at the counter of a stall in Gwangjang Market (광장시장).

Getting there

  • From Bukchon village to Gwangjang Market: metro from Anguk station (안국역), about 20 minutes.

If it rains

  • The National Palace Museum of Korea (국립고궁박물관), within the palace grounds: under cover, and a natural follow-on from your morning.

For every address

  • Its Korean name, to find it in Naver Map and show it to the taxi driver.
  • The date of our last check, on the spot or by phone in Korean.

Your questions about the review

In what format should I send my itinerary?

As you have it: a document, a spreadsheet, a list of notes or a link to a map. We read it as it is.

What if I then want a tailor-made trip?

Order it within 30 days of the report being sent: we deduct the $75 from its price.

What if the review brings me nothing?

If our review brings you no useful correction, we refund you. Write to us within 7 days of receiving the report. The details are in the terms of sale.
