Frequently asked questions

Before you write to us

Price, timing, payment, cancellation: straight answers. The details are in our terms of sale.

How much do your services cost?

The itinerary check starts at $75, the tailor-made trip at $385, the arrival kit at $85 and on-site assistance at $165 per week. The exact price is in the quote: you know it before you pay, and only that price commits you.

What is in the arrival kit?

A handbook in your name, as a PDF and in a version to print: the route from the airport to your accommodation step by step, the transport card, taxis, the neighbourhood of your accommodation, useful phrases and numbers, the list for your first day. On top of that, a 30-minute video call the day before you leave, to install your apps with us, and WhatsApp on the day you arrive, until the evening. From $85 per trip. The handbook is included in the tailor-made trip.

How does payment work?

You pay in one go, in US dollars, through the PayPal payment link we send you. You can pay by bank card, without opening a PayPal account [TO CHECK ON SITE]. We start the service as soon as we receive payment.

How far in advance should I contact you?

For a tailor-made trip, at least 4 weeks before you leave. By default, we start at the end of your 14-day withdrawal period. The How it works page sets out every timeframe.

I am leaving soon: can you start straight away?

Yes. Write in your acceptance email: “I ask for the service to start before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period.” For a service completed before the end of that period, add: “I acknowledge that I will lose my right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed.”

Can I change my mind after paying?

Yes. You have 14 days to withdraw, with no reason needed and at no cost, from the day we receive your payment. If you asked us to start before the end of that period, you pay only for the part of the service already provided.

What if I cancel later?

The itinerary check is refunded in full if you cancel before the video call. For the tailor-made trip, we keep the price of the steps already completed and we refund the rest. Assistance is refunded in full if you tell us at least 7 days before its first day, half after that, and any week that has started remains due.

What if something goes wrong during my stay?

With on-site assistance, you message us and we reply within 3 hours, from 9 am to 9 pm, Seoul time; in Seoul, a team member can come and meet you. A message received after 9 pm gets a reply from 9 am the next day. In a medical emergency or danger, first call 119 or 112, then let us know.

Which languages do you answer in?

We answer in English and French. With venues, we speak Korean: our team includes a Korean, born in Seoul.

Which regions do you cover?

We plan itineraries throughout South Korea. We check addresses on the spot in Seoul and its region, and by phone elsewhere. The emergency trip included in on-site assistance covers the city of Seoul.

Do you plan trips with children?

Yes. We adapt the pace, journeys and addresses to the children's ages, and the price follows the size of the group. The Family trips page sets out what we check.

What if the review of my itinerary brings me nothing?

If our review brings you no useful correction, we refund the itinerary check. Email us within 7 days of receiving the report. The conditions are in article 10.4 of the terms of sale.

Are you a travel agency or tour guides?

No. Dangol (단골, the regular) is an advisory team: we are neither a travel agency nor tour guides, and we do not book or pay on your behalf. You book and pay for each service directly with the venue, using our links, our time slots and our messages in Korean; we do not handle visas or give medical advice.

Can you recommend a clinic?

No. You choose your clinic; we come with you and translate, before the appointment and during the consultation. We take no commission and we give no medical advice.

Who is Dangol?

Dangol (단골, the regular) is a French-Korean team based in the region of Seoul that advises English- and French-speaking travellers in South Korea. Lucas, who is French, reviews itineraries and prepares quotes; Ellie, born in Seoul, calls venues in Korean and checks addresses on the spot. The team page presents the company and how we work.

Where is the Dangol team based?

The Dangol team is based in the region of Seoul, in South Korea. We check addresses on the spot in Seoul and its region, and by phone in the rest of the country. With on-site assistance, a team member can come and meet you in Seoul in an emergency.

How much does an itinerary review for Korea cost?

At Dangol, the itinerary check costs from $75: a full review of your plan, a video call of about 45 minutes in English or French, and a written report. If you order a tailor-made trip within 30 days, we deduct these $75 from its price. If our review brings you no useful correction, we refund you.

Does Dangol make bookings for me?

Dangol prepares each booking with you: we give you the links, the time slots and the messages in Korean, then you book and pay directly with the venue. For a place that takes bookings by phone, we call the restaurant and we confirm with you. Before we recommend an address, we check it on the spot or with a call in Korean.
